Liberal women stand with oppressed women in Iran, Afghanistan, and around the world

Von Redaktion Parteipolitik | 07.03.2023 16:34 | Lesedauer: 1 minute

Liberal women fight for the oppressed: we demand a world where women can live free, safe, and self-determined. Securing women's rights is one of the biggest challenges in the global enforcement of human rights.

Support oppressed women worldwide, defend women's rights as human rights

„Women’s rights are human rights. They are non-negotiable. Nevertheless, women are currently being oppressed, their lives threatened, and their freedom disregarded by brutal regimes worldwide. Brave people take to the streets at the risk of their lives to fight for their rights. The Liberal Women stand in solidarity with oppressed women in Iran, Afghanistan, and around the world. We Liberal Women advocate for a world where women can live freely, safely, and autonomously. This applies especially to women fleeing violence worldwide. We demand that States Parties comply with and implement both the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women and the Istanbul Convention. Securing women’s rights is one of the greatest challenges in the global enforcement of human rights. This applies to political, economic, social, and religious participation rights, and especially to the human right to education. These rights are essential, non-negotiable, and without alternative.“
