For this purpose, Rotary member and managing director of the Porsche Center Saarland, Alexander Lang, collected money from his customers to support the Rotary project. "Our customers are doing well economically. They are all grateful for this and see themselves as having a social responsibility," said Alexander Lang. He collected 7,500 euros, which he handed over to the Rotary Club St. Ingbert.
A large part of the money flows into the sustainable project “52 for 52plus.” The 52 members of the Rotary Club want to support and promote 52 socially disadvantaged young people aged 14 to 18 in St. Ingbert. They are offered cultural, sporting, and culinary opportunities in the form of vouchers, enabling them to participate in the activities of their peer group. “We want to show young people that they have a place in society and give them the opportunity to shape their future independently and collectively,” explained Günter Hoffmann. That is exactly why the project will not be limited to his one-year presidency. Ideally, the young people will be accompanied by “mentors” until they turn 18, who help them, for example, find internships or training places – simply stand by them as a person. “On behalf of the citizens of St. Ingbert, I thank you,” said Mayor Dr. Ulli Meyer. “You don’t just give money; you carefully consider how children and young people can be individually supported.”
Since this project is planned to last approximately 4 years, donations from external sources are also welcome.

The principle of sponsorships has already been initiated by the Rotary Club St. Ingbert for children of primary school age. In this project pillar, the Rotary Club calls on all citizens of St. Ingbert who have time and wish to engage socially to take on a sponsorship for primary school children. "A very important project, especially since our children have a lot of catching up to do due to the Corona period, both academically and socially," said Nadine Backes, mayor and deputy responsible for education and children. The Rotarians have recognized this need and support small ideas such as crafting, handiwork, cooking, sewing together, as well as reading and practice sessions for school lessons, which the sponsors carry out with their children. Currently, 40 volunteer sponsors are active in St. Ingbert – any further interested persons are warmly welcome.
The Rotarians also take care of the third pillar, the seniors of St. Ingbert. Regular game afternoons for young and old are planned, where people of all generations play together, interact, and learn from each other.
