Immediately before the start of the event, an obviously defective canister of cleaning agent was found in the locked cleaning room and disposed of. In the process, the janitor, male, 30 years old, came into slight contact with the cleaning agent, after which he subsequently reported health complaints (nausea, dizziness). He was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Due to the initially unknown, presumably caustic liquid, the rescue chain was set in motion. In addition, the school was already evacuated as a precaution by the school administrations.
The liquid was later identified as a chemical cleaning agent concentrate labeled with the inscription "Danger UN 2319" (terpene hydrocarbon) as well as various hazardous materials symbols.
According to the assessment of the chemical specialist advisor of the fire brigade, there was subsequently no longer any danger from this substance inside the building. Nevertheless, the school administrations of the two schools closed the building to visitors of the open house day, and the rest of the event took place outside.
