The 23-year-old driver of a black 5-series BMW lost control of his vehicle on the rain-slick road, collided with the central guardrail, and came to a stop on the roadway after spinning. Debris damaged a car on the opposite lane. The BMW driver remained uninjured according to current knowledge. Initially, the lane in the direction of Zweibrücken had to be completely closed and traffic diverted at the connection to the BAB 623. After cleaning one lane, the road towards Zweibrücken was partially reopened. Currently, two lanes are still closed due to cleaning work. In the direction of Saarlouis, only one lane was temporarily closed. Approximately 30 meters of the central guardrail were damaged in the accident. The total damage from the accident is estimated at 20,000 euros. A fine procedure was initiated against the driver for inappropriate speed.
