Twelve million tons of food are currently thrown away annually in Germany. The foodsharing movement aims to enable private individuals as well as businesses to share food with others instead of throwing it away. In St. Ingbert, a volunteer group is working to advance the topic of foodsharing. In addition to regular meetings, so-called Foodsavers collect food from cooperating businesses that would otherwise end up in the trash. This food is then passed on via the platform or through public collection points called Fair-Teiler. In addition, foodsharing St. Ingbert aims to raise awareness about food waste and show ways to reduce it through informational events and community actions. At this event, you have the opportunity to get to know the participants and the work of foodsharing and to become active yourself.
Participation is free of charge.
The event takes place in the training room of the VHS office, Kaiserstraße 71, St. Ingbert, entrance to the library on the ground floor.
