The children came from four parishes or parish communities - three from the Diocese of Trier and one group from the Saarland part of the Diocese of Speyer. Accompanied by representatives of the dioceses of Trier and Speyer, they traditionally brought the blessing to the government headquarters. The blessing initials “C – M – B” (abbreviation for Christus mansionem benedictat - Christ bless this house) can now be found on the door beam in the entrance area.
Prime Minister Rehlinger: “The Star Singers are a wonderful tradition that supports charitable causes and at the same time serves as a good reminder in the new year that solidarity and mutual support should continue to shape our society this year.”
Typically, the reception of the Star Singers takes place around the Day of the Three Kings. Since the official opening ceremony of the Star Singers campaign 2023 is taking place in Saarbrücken this year, the Star Singers already brought the blessing to the State Chancellery on January 2, 2023.
