The black BMW was initially parked in a parking lot below the Alm in Landsweiler-Reden. A police patrol car was parked next to the BMW. When the officers wanted to get out to check the vehicle and its occupants, the driver sped off from the parking lot at full throttle with spinning tires to evade the check. In doing so, he rammed the stationary patrol car. The pursuit extended over a distance of about 5 kilometers from Landsweiler-Reden to Schiffweiler. During this, the fleeing driver reached high speeds of over 100 km/h and committed several traffic violations. While driving through a roundabout on Bildstockstraße in the wrong direction and making a turn at the intersection of Kreisstraße/Hauptstraße, the driver endangered other road users, who could only avoid a collision with the fleeing BMW by braking sharply. To prevent further endangerment of uninvolved parties, the pursuit of the fleeing BMW was abandoned by the police officers in the town of Schiffweiler. The license plates attached to the fleeing vehicle were not issued for this car. Witnesses, endangered road users, and persons who can provide information about a black 3 Series BMW with fresh accident damage on the left side of the vehicle are requested to contact the Neunkirchen police station at Tel. 06821-2030.
