State Police Chief Rupp has been known for years for his strong commitment against the steadily increasing violence toward police officers, as well as other emergency services personnel.
State Police Chief Rupp: "Bodycams, tasers, and other equipment with which our police officers are equipped do help, but they can only rarely prevent such violent excesses. We must not accept the increasing brutality in society. The penalties prescribed by the criminal code for such acts must be fully enforced by the judiciary! Furthermore, I would welcome an increase in the minimum sentence in these cases, as well as the inclusion of a driver's license suspension or driving ban as an additional penalty."
The investigations in this matter are ongoing. Anyone who can provide information about the incident is asked to contact the police in Sulzbach at the phone number 06897/9330.
