The officer had to be hospitalized with facial fractures and underwent surgery.
Interior Minister Reinhold Jost strongly condemns the attack on the officer and demands a thorough investigation of the incident by the law enforcement authorities.
Jost: “Violence against emergency personnel is absolutely unacceptable, even when the perpetrators are intoxicated! Politics and society must jointly send a clear message that those who protect us in emergencies are also supported by the community.”
Jost wishes the injured officer a speedy recovery and hopes that the officer will fully regain his health.
