At the church service on Sunday, January 1st, at 6 p.m., the Offenbach Chamber Choir under the direction of Roland Lißmann, the violinist Marie Joselle Hendel, and organist Thomas Layes will participate. Afterwards, the New Year's reception of the church community will take place in the neighboring community hall.
After a two-year interruption due to Corona, the series of pulpit speeches on New Year's Day in St. Wendel will resume. For well over twenty-five years, politicians have been invited to the town church on the first day of the new year to deliver a pulpit speech on the annual motto. In the past, among others, Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer, Heiko Maas, Peter Müller, Oskar Lafontaine, Tobias Hans, and Udo Recktenwald have been present.
