At the Nordsaarland police station, a report was received at 00:30 that three people, including one woman, had unlawfully entered the apartment of a man living in Wadern by breaking down a door and then fled. The officers dispatched immediately were able to locate the three individuals shortly thereafter in Wadern. The woman tried to escape and was restrained by a police officer to verify her identity. Suddenly, the woman struck the officer in the face. Overpowered and searched by a policewoman, the still defiant woman was found to be in possession of a tablet reported stolen. This tablet had previously been stolen from a twelve-year-old student along with her school bag in a shopping center in Wadern. The student had placed her bag there while shopping and reported the theft afterwards. Criminal proceedings were initiated against the three fleeing persons on suspicion of property damage and trespassing due to the forcible entry into the Wadern apartment. In addition, the woman faces charges of assaulting a police officer. Further investigations are being conducted into how the woman came into possession of the stolen tablet. On the morning of 22.12.2022, after calming down, the defiant woman was released from the custody cell.
