Through the new high-speed line Wendlingen-Ulm, the original connection from Saarbrücken to Stuttgart was extended.
"The long-held wish of the Saarland economy has now been fulfilled," says Mobility Minister Petra Berg, who expressly welcomes the new connection. "Deutsche Bahn has found a way through the new high-speed line to expand the existing services and thus create a better connection to the southwest of Germany."
"With ICE comfort without transfer to Munich and back: The additional service to the Bavarian metropolis in Deutsche Bahn's long-distance traffic now makes traveling by train between Saarbrücken and southern Germany even more attractive," emphasizes Dr. Klaus Vornhusen, DB Group Representative for Saarland.
The new ICE train pair 563 departs daily from Saarbrücken at 8:27 AM and arrives in Munich around 1 PM. The return trip leaves at 3:04 PM. This connection supplements the existing EC train pair Saarbrücken-Graz (216 and 217), which runs via Munich.
