The erratically driven car, a red Nissan Qashqai with Neunkirchen district license plates, was traveling on Wellesweilerstraße heading towards Neunkirchen city center. Via Brückenstraße, the car was then guided onto Karl-Schneider-Straße and Süduferstraße up to the Fernstraße roundabout, where the car crossed the Theodor-Heuss-Brücke back in the direction of Wellesweiler. The car was first noticed by the reporting party near the junction of Wellesweilerstr./Flotowstr., as it was driving centrally in the lane and only at 30 km/h. During the further journey, the vehicle consistently occupied at least half of the opposite lane. Occasionally, the car was even completely on the opposite lane, forcing at least one oncoming vehicle to brake to a stop and pull aside. Additionally, the erratically driven car nearly ran over a central island on Wellesweilerstraße and barriers at a construction site on Karl-Schneider-Straße. The police officers deployed were able to locate the vehicle and identify the driver.
The police request that any potential witnesses, especially the person whose vehicle had to stop and pull over, get in touch with the local police station.
