Eight residents of the apartment building were able to get to safety on their own before the fire department arrived. Three people were taken to a hospital with minor injuries. Over 50 emergency personnel from the fire districts of Wiebelskirchen, Neunkirchen city center, Wellesweiler, Furpach, the Saarstahl plant fire brigade, the emergency medical service, and the police were involved in the operation.
