For the second construction phase, the Protestant parish of Alt-Saarbrücken had applied for funding amounting to €225,000, which has now been approved within the framework of the Federal Monument Protection Program XI. Parliamentary State Secretary and FDP state chairman Oliver Luksic successfully advocated for this during the budget consultations.
„The Ludwig Church is one of the landmarks of the Saarland. I am also happy to advocate for the monuments in my homeland among my colleagues in Berlin.“ The Ludwig Church will celebrate its 250th anniversary in 2025. In the same year, the Saarland will also host the celebrations for the Day of German Unity. In addition to the Ludwig Church, the St. Ludwig Church in Saarlouis can also look forward to funding of 100,000 € from the monument protection program, not least thanks to the support of Oliver Luksic.
