Neunkirchen. A 39-year-old man from Neunkirchen has been in pre-trial detention since last Friday (04.11.2022) after allegedly seriously injuring a 23-year-old man with a knife in Neunkirchen the evening before.
Around 10:00 PM last Thursday evening (03.11.2022), the 23-year-old was on his way home in Neunkirchen together with a relative and parked his car on Langenstichstraße, near Oberer Markt. After they got out of the car, the two were suddenly harassed and insulted by the later attacker from Neunkirchen.
Subsequently, the victim was allegedly threatened with death. The young man was able to fend off the subsequent attack with a knife, but sustained serious injuries in the process. The fleeing attacker was apprehended by Neunkirchen police forces still in the immediate vicinity of the crime scene.
Witnesses who can provide helpful information about the course of the crime are asked to contact the criminal investigation duty service at 0681/962-2133 or the Neunkirchen police station at 06821/2030. The investigators are particularly interested in a group of four men who are said to have passed the scene at the time of the crime and may have observed the incident.
