On the evening of November 3, 2022, at around 7:30 PM, a room fire occurred in a property on the street "An der Linde" in 66687 Wadern-Noswendel. The fire departments of the city of Wadern and the district of Noswendel were quickly on site with strong forces and were able to bring the fire under control before further parts of the building were affected. All persons were able to leave the property in time and suffered no injuries.
The dog was also rescued from the building during the firefighting efforts. Ultimately, property damage occurred in the room (storage room). The Nordsaarland Police Department has initiated an investigation into the cause of the fire. In the period immediately before the incident, there was a power outage in the town and surrounding districts. Whether there is a connection to the cause of the fire is being examined.
