A few moments earlier, the car occupied by three people, a black Opel Corsa, had already attracted attention due to its driving behavior, repeatedly crossing into the oncoming lane at high speed. Ultimately, the 19-year-old driver completely lost control of the vehicle and left the road, where he collided with a massive concrete post, among other things.
The force of the impact completely destroyed the front of the car. The 21-year-old front passenger and an 18-year-old rear passenger were seriously injured, while the 19-year-old driver sustained minor injuries. All occupants were taken to nearby hospitals. During the traffic accident investigation, indications emerged of a possible influence of intoxicating substances on the driver. A blood sample is to provide clarification on this matter. The driver's license was confiscated. The police ask witnesses to contact the Saarlouis Police Station by phone at 06831/9010 or by email at pi-saarlouis@polizei.slpol.de.
