"What the traffic light coalition presents on the topic of cannabis legalization can only be described as irresponsible. Some proposals are legally questionable and completely detached from reality, which collectively seem intended above all to downplay the risks of cannabis deliberately."
The federal government is currently voting on a draft for cannabis legalization, which includes, among other things, the possession of up to 20 grams without penalty for persons over 18 years of age, the removal of cannabis classification as a narcotic, and sales in specially licensed stores.
Frank Wagner: "As early as September, the scientific service of the Bundestag worked out the legal obstacles to the legalization of cannabis that arise from European law. Furthermore, when looking at the countries that have already gained experience with the legalization of cannabis, the key points of the traffic light coalition appear even more questionable. A dissolution of the black market is not to be expected, and drug tourism will be given free rein. Not to mention the long-term health risks."
Particularly confusing are the ideas for the "protection" of children and adolescents within the framework of cannabis legalization.
“The fig leaf of a so far undefined distance between coffeeshops and schools seems like an insult to parents who are concerned about protecting their children from early contact with cannabis,” Frank Wagner concluded.
