As part of the Open House Day, the Historical Society wants to show the city’s history to everyone, because after all, it concerns everyone in some way. Visitors were able to browse the extensive archive and leaf through old volumes.
Those who were fascinated by the family tree of the former mayor of Neunkirchen, Friedrich Decker, which is on display in the archive, and who were eager to discover their own ancestors received information about it. In total, the club members have digitally recorded 123,000 individuals so far. The former mayor, founding member of the club, and president of the HVSN, Friedrich Decker, offered two interesting tours of the historical relics of the two Neunkirchen castles, which were attended by numerous young and older visitors.
The office of the Historical Society is also open to anyone interested every Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. The society also offers lectures. More information can be found at https://hvsn.de/vortraege
