The PARTY takes over the "fare dodger" fund - with tax money from party financing
The 9-Euro-Fund initiative and The PARTY announce their intention to continue enabling mobility for 9 euros per month. The background of the decision is today's resolution of the Transport Ministers' Conference to introduce a 49-euro ticket instead of the 9-euro ticket. From today onwards, the volunteer initiative of the 9-Euro-Fund is handing over the fund to The PARTY, who will continue it in the long term.
Martin Sonneborn, chairman of Die PARTEI, comments on the takeover as follows: "If the Groko Haram does not want to continue their only success, the 9-euro ticket, then we will do it. In view of rising prices and inflation, we stand by the people who cannot afford tickets. The ticket will remain as long as there are 9-euro Porsches. Smiley!"
"Furthermore, we thank the Initiative 9-Euro-Fonds for their good idea and dedicated work. It is concerning that voluntary commitment with food banks and tickets has to compensate for the state's failures."
The 9-Euro Fund was established at the end of the 9 Euro ticket period to continue enabling people to stay mobile during times of inflation. Meanwhile, the fund has over 8,000 donors and members. For 462 people, the increased transportation fee was covered in September and October.
„We do not want to abandon people with low incomes who simply cannot afford public transport. €49 is too expensive for too many people. That is why we are very pleased that Die PARTEI is now putting the fund on a secure footing,“ comments Leo Maurer from the 9-Euro-Fund on the handover.
Martin Sonneborn: "And we are happy that we can allocate PARTEI funds to a good cause. And that we can involve the SPD, CDU, FDP and Greens in the costs through party financing."
