Kmiecik was born without arms and paints using his mouth and feet. The artist, who is visiting as part of the inclusive EINklang festival of the Saarlouis district (see "Background"), is displaying a selection of his works in the foyer of the Large Conference Room of the District Office at the initiative of the Saarlouis-Bochnia Partnership Association and the Saarlouis district.
Kmiecik is a former scholarship holder and current member of the Association of Mouth and Foot Painting Artists Worldwide (VDMFK) e.V. His works are, among other things, printed on postcards and calendars of the association. He is a well-known artist in his home country Poland. He mainly works with oil, pastel, and watercolors as well as with acrylic, tempera, and pencil. His artistic focus is on the depiction of landscapes, still lifes, figure painting, and surrealistic paintings.
The works of Stanislaw Kmiecik will be exhibited from Sunday, October 16, for a period of 14 days on the first floor of the district office and can be viewed during the administration's opening hours. Admission is free.
Background: The inclusive EINklang festival of the Saarlouis district takes place on Saturday, October 15th, at 6 pm, at the Lokschuppen Dillingen. Around 130 musicians, dancers, and singers with and without disabilities will perform. The artists come from the region, Luxembourg, and the partner district Bochnia/Poland.
