The campaign "House to House – climate-fit into the future" is coming to Gersheim and Mandelbachtal, supporting residents in reducing energy costs and contributing to climate protection.
"Climate and nature conservation have been firmly established in the Saarpfalz district for years. We can only achieve the energy transition together. It is important to engage people throughout the entire district and show them where they can 'pitch in' together with us," says Dr. Theophil Gallo, District Administrator of the Saarpfalz district and Chairman of the Biosphere Reserve Bliesgau.
"As municipalities, we want to collectively take the path towards a more resource-conserving world against the backdrop of soaring energy prices and the palpable dramatization of climate emergencies, while supporting residents in saving energy and becoming sustainable for the future," say Maria Vermeulen, Mayor of the Municipality of Mandelbachtal, and Michael Clivot, Mayor of the Municipality of Gersheim.
How and where to save energy in one’s own household can be learned by those interested during the door-to-door consultation at an information event on Tuesday, 11 October 2022 at 6:00 pm online and in the meeting room at Gersheim Town Hall.
At this event, Cathrin Becker, an energy consultant from the Consumer Advice Center, will give a specialist lecture on how to improve the energy condition of the building and save energy overall with a small budget and minor changes in user behavior.
In another article, Sabine Zägel, climate protection manager of the Saarpfalz district, presents the solar roof cadastre of the Biosphere Bliesgau and the ZENAPA project, which stands for more climate protection, biodiversity, and bioeconomy in the large protected region.
