Under the title “Value Transmission in Children's Books and Fairy Tales,” the KiBiSS project (AQuiS GmbH), which coordinates reading sponsorships for day-care centers in the Saarpfalz district, offers training for volunteer reading mentors and interested parties, in cooperation with the Catholic Adult Education and the Homburg City Library. It takes place on Thursday, October 20th, from 10 AM to 4 PM, at the Stadtcafé, 66424 Homburg, Marktplatz 8.
The speaker Ellen Lischewski embarks with the participants on a search for traces to identify values in picture books and fairy tales. Children's books in particular leave traces in thinking, language, and the soul. They shape children's awareness of values well into adulthood. Values especially provide children with protection and security and give their world, which contains so much unpredictability and newness, structure and reliability.
In the afternoon, small working groups are formed and books or fairy tales are presented. Anyone who has ideas about the values that might be found in private children's books or fairy tales is also welcome to bring their own material.
A contribution of 20 euros is required. Drinks will be provided. Please bring your own lunch.
