Due to the Corona pandemic, the festive birthday was celebrated with a one-year delay, but no less intensively. Currently, the club has around 350 members, with a strong focus on youth development. Guests were welcomed at the Humeser village square by the chairwoman Eva Hoffmann, who has held this office since the founding. After extensive preliminary work by Stefan Persch and Werner Broschart, two true carnival icons, the Humeser Carnival Club was established in 2011.
Already in the following year, thanks to incredible team spirit, the association invited to the first sessions. For the actors, it was "Alleh Hopp" three times - an additional children’s carnival session was also added and became a tradition. Just a year after its founding, the HuKV counted around 200 members and went online with its activities on its own homepage. Especially the online presence via the homepage, but also on Facebook, ensured during the Corona times that the videos for Fasnacht brought some variety and good cheer to the many carnival enthusiasts. Three sessions were planned for the past 2021/22 season in the big Eppel. Unfortunately, these had to be canceled due to the pandemic. Now the association’s actors hope that celebrations can finally be held joyfully again next year – preparations for this are in full swing in all groups.
The anniversary was now properly celebrated. Numerous volunteer helpers ensured that the guests felt completely comfortable. Not even the rain could stop the visitors from celebrating. The party went on late into the night with music and good entertainment. The party band “Die Granaten” brought great cheer, having even rehearsed a few Humeser songs especially for this event. But this is no surprise, after all the drummer is a true HuKV original. Program director Kai Broschart, in addition to his role as drummer, quickly organized a carnival-themed program: dancing with the “Young Generation,” humorous speeches by Lia Broschart and Leonie Biesel, heartfelt emotions in “Father and Son,” the mood booster with the Brill Project, and absolute goosebumps during the Biesels’ performance – all hosted by HuKV hostess Desiree König. Overall, a fantastic celebration in which the club truly embraced Faasend even outside the regular session.
Mayor Andreas Feld of Eppelborn was very happy to take on the patronage for this event. He congratulated the club on its carnival anniversary and thanked all the volunteer helpers as well as everyone on and behind the stage who have ensured for twelve years now that carnival is celebrated with great fun in Humes. Among the well-wishers were also representatives from friendly carnival clubs in the community. After the long pandemic-related break, it quickly became clear to everyone: Humes is a carnival stronghold, and carnival simply belongs in Humes – Humes, you are a feeling!
