After a two-year pandemic-related pause, the holiday camp organized by the district youth services took place again on the Costa Brava in Spain. In summer, sun, and sea, 21 young people spent two weeks at a comfortable campsite on a spacious sandy beach.
Various activities on land and also on the water offered variety and a lot of fun for everyone. There was mountain biking and a Sesekajak tour was undertaken. But also while snorkeling, stand-up paddling, or entertaining challenges, the girls and boys gathered unforgettable memories.
It wasn't just about action. After all, the Costa Brava also has a lot to offer culturally. Excursions to Empuriabrava and Girona were just as enjoyable as visiting the coastal town of Cadaques, where the group followed in the footsteps of artists Dali and Picasso. The highlight was the day trip to Barcelona. During a city tour, among other things, the Sagrada Familia and the Jardins del Mirador could be admired. The day was rounded off by the impressive water shows of the Font Magica in the evening.
So that the wonderful trip remains memorable for a long time, the dedicated team of youth care coordinators collected many beautiful photos, uploaded them to a Dropbox, and made them available to the young people.
“I am pleased to see that our leisure program is once again being so well received, and I hope that the young people and young adults will be able to make up for what was not possible during the pandemic in the coming years. Our center will continue to offer opportunities for this. Such a leisure program requires a competent, reliable, and responsible team of supervisors. I would like to sincerely thank them for the organization and support,” emphasized District Administrator Dr. Theophil Gallo.
After one trip is before the next. In the first week of the autumn holidays, from October 24th to 28th, the next trip for girls and boys between 14 and 21 years old will already take place. This year's educational trip goes to Konstanz – the metropolis on Lake Constance. As always, participants can expect a varied program. The cost contribution is 180 euros.
