As part of the construction work for the new stormwater overflow basin in Knorscheid, a drinking water pipeline must be relocated on short notice. For this reason, the railway underpass on Rennbahnstraße ("Tunnelche") is expected to be closed to vehicle traffic for about a week. Drivers are asked to allow extra time accordingly. Pedestrians should also expect disruptions, but the contracting company intends to provide a narrow passage for them.
The work begins on Thursday, September 22, 2022, and is expected to last about a week. A detour via Dillinger Straße (B269) and the bypass road (B268) is signposted. Especially during peak traffic hours, there are traffic jams on the detour routes.
