Numerous guests accepted the invitation of the district adult education center and Mayor Jörg Wilhelmy to the official opening of the art exhibition at the Ensdorf town hall and admired the artist's photographs. The vernissage was musically accompanied by the flute group of the Saarlouis district music school. A selection of nature photographs by Manfred Schmidt will be on display in the 1st floor of the town hall for interested visitors until October 14.
Through different exposures and movements, the artist captures moments of the realistic course of nature and everyday life in his photographs. This creates surreal moments in a colorful composition. The photographs have no title, allowing each viewer the opportunity for their own interpretation.
Manfred Schmidt is a native of Ensdorf and has been living in Heusweiler for ten years. He discovered his passion for photography already in his youth. For several years, the art photographer has been a member of the Völklingen Photo Club 1927. "Digital photography combined with my perspective on our world allows me to approach and capture my subjects as I experience the moment – becoming and passing away, saying goodbye, the flow, being very close to things, and perhaps even catching a glimpse behind them," says Manfred Schmidt. Post-processing plays a minor role in this. The art photographer's goal is still to present images that come directly from the camera.
The exhibition is a charity event. The artist is displaying the paintings for sale, with the proceeds benefiting the Ehrensache association founded by Petra Jenal. If you wish to purchase a painting, please sign the list available in the town hall alongside the photographs. The artist will get in touch with interested buyers.
The exhibition is open during the opening hours of the Ensdorf Town Hall (Monday to Thursday 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM and 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM, as well as Friday 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM).
