The 55-year-old from St. Ingbert has always been interested in local politics. Peter Richter became a member of the UCD in 2013, which renamed itself "The Independents" in 2018.
"The Independents" are an association of independent citizens who are not politically affiliated and foster an open exchange of opinions. Peter Richter holds the office of 2nd Chairman here, following Wolfgang Weisgerber. "Stepping into the footsteps of Michael Trittelvitz is a special challenge. At the same time, I consider it an honor, as Michael was both my political mentor and a very good friend, whose memory I cherish. I was able to learn an incredible amount from him," Peter Richter praised his party colleague.
Volunteering is very important to Peter Richter. As a board member of the trade and commerce association as well as the association for the promotion of social and cultural interests of the medium-sized town of St. Ingbert, he is also committed here to the concerns of the citizens of St. Ingbert. Among his political goals are, among others, the completion of the two roundabouts at Mühlwald in connection with the new EDEKA store, the maintenance of cemeteries, strengthening trade and commerce to revitalize the city center, as well as the beautification of the pedestrian zone. "I enjoy volunteering, and I want to contribute with my independent work to keeping St. Ingbert a livable and lovable place. It would be great if I could help improve one thing or another in our beautiful city," explains the committed St. Ingbert resident.
Privately, Peter Richter is a family man
The self-employed master stonemason and stone sculptor, who has been running his business on Neunkircher Weg since 1998, has been happily married for almost 30 years and has two adult children. He enjoys spending his free time together with his family and dog at his weekend house in the Bliesgau region.
