Neunkirchen. In a large-scale operation on Saturday afternoon, September 17, 2022, the old farm and Sinnerthaler Weg were cleaned up. The members of FREIE WÄHLER Neunkirchen e.V. participated for the fourth time in the international day of action to clear nature of litter. The participants collected a large amount of glass bottles, beverage cans, coffee cups, plastic, oil cans, and other debris. A total of seven cubic meters of waste and bulky items were collected within three hours. The majority of the waste in the industrial area comes from long-distance truck drivers.
“With our commitment, we want to set a sign in Neunkirchen in terms of environmental protection as well as against illegal waste dumping, in order to raise awareness among the population for waste prevention and careful waste disposal,” explains the chairman Brandon Lee Posse. The FREIE WÄHLER Neunkirchen issue an appeal to their fellow citizens to pay more attention to the cleanliness of Neunkirchen.
The collected trash was finally picked up by the Central Operations Yard and disposed of where it belongs. Our thanks go to the city administration for providing us with gloves, garbage bags, and a container.
Chairman Posse is pleased to note that recently reported waste deposits in Neunkirchen have been quickly removed. Obviously, reporting via the igudd app works, and the municipal regulatory service apparently takes a systematic approach to investigating abandoned waste.
In order to show citizens the costs incurred annually due to illegal waste dumping, we requested the data from the head of the regulatory office. Upon request, we were informed that last year alone, material and personnel costs amounting to 99,759.89 euros arose due to illegal waste disposal. During the same period, the regulatory office processed 638 investigation or control orders related to waste deposits. In 211 cases, suspected perpetrators could be identified. A total of 14,067.78 euros were levied through 196 cost reimbursement notices. In 42 administrative offense proceedings related to waste law, fines totaling 3,450 euros were imposed. In our opinion, this is an enormous amount, which ultimately is lacking in the municipal budget for more important matters. In general, every citizen should be aware that the costs arising from illegal waste dumping affect every citizen and must be borne by taxpayers' money.
