The biosphere city of St. Ingbert with its districts is a nature-close and at the same time equally charming and unusual hiking paradise – and currently on the best way to becoming a "Quality Region for Hiking in Germany." Here, on interesting trails, you can discover not only diverse landscapes but also exciting traces from several millennia of cultural history. An impression of this is conveyed by the new series "The Hikeable Friday." The Tourism Department of the city of St. Ingbert invites you to explore selected and deliberately very different themed routes around the Ingobertus city.
On Friday, September 23rd – coinciding with the beginning of autumn – participants have the opportunity to explore the historically significant border area between Rohrbach and Spiesen. The guided hike follows historical boundary stones that once marked the borders between Nassau-Saarbrücken and Pfalz-Zweibrücken, and later between the kingdoms of Bavaria and Prussia. The tour leads through an ancient, continually surprising cultural landscape, past idyllic forest springs, and to an ancient quarry. Let yourself be surprised!
The meeting point for the approximately two-hour hike is at 4:30 PM at the hiking car park at Spieser Mühle.
Participation fee: 5 euros/person
