The health department of the regional association reports 164 new coronavirus cases today (as of September 15, 4 p.m.). The number of newly reported cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days rises to 291.6 according to internal calculations.
Two deaths were reported to the health department of the Regional Association today. On August 31, a 98-year-old patient who had previously tested positive for the coronavirus passed away. On September 2, an 89-year-old patient died from or with Corona. The number of deaths associated with the coronavirus rises to 809.
7-day total of new infections by cities and municipalities
In the past seven days, 955 people in the regional association have been infected with the coronavirus. Of these, 473 live in Saarbrücken, 99 in Völklingen, 66 in Sulzbach, 64 in Quierschied, 57 in Heusweiler, 55 in Riegelsberg, 45 in Püttlingen, 42 in Kleinblittersdorf, 32 in Friedrichsthal, and 22 in Großrosseln.
Corona case numbers since the beginning of the pandemic
In total, there are 128,713 confirmed cases in the regional association that have tested positive since the beginning of the pandemic. Of these, 69,816 are in the state capital and 58,897 in the nine surrounding towns and municipalities.
