The VHS Völklingen, in cooperation with the Dementia Association in Köllertal e. V., is offering the lecture "Dementia – Fear of the Truth" on Monday, September 26th, at 6 p.m.

The condition of dementia and the knowledge about it have still not fully reached our society. People with dementia are greatly unsettled by the loss of their familiar abilities. Fear and shame accompany their daily lives, and they gradually, almost imperceptibly, withdraw more and more from social and public life. For relatives, the changed behavior of their family member is often very embarrassing. Instead of seeking help and talking, they try to ignore these embarrassments. However, ignoring dementia is the wrong approach. The speaker Anita Lender-Beck will show you how to gain access to the unknown, often frightening world of dementia.
Participation in the lecture is free of charge, but registration is required.
