The high lime content in the drinking water caused frequent failures of the shower fittings in the large sports hall, resulting in the need for costly replacements. The idea arose to install a water softening system at the central water connection, which filters the lime or prevents its formation in the first place. In April of this year, the municipal administration submitted an application for funding for this system to the Ministry of the Interior, Building and Sports before soliciting offers. In May, the municipal council decided to award the contract to the company Pirrung from Wallerfangen, which offered the most favorable price for the system. After the Ministry of the Interior, Building and Sports granted approval for early construction start, Pirrung installed the water softening system in the sports hall in July, which was subsidized by the Ministry with €4,950.
