The Women's Office of the Regional Association Saarbrücken has been able to secure top-notch speakers for its autumn and winter season events and has put together a varied program. This is aimed not only at women but explicitly also at interested men.
The opening of the new women's program is the reading "The Pink-Blue Trap." Almut Schnerring and Sascha Verlan, authors of the book of the same name, advocate for a childhood free of gender stereotypes. The goal is not to treat all children the same; rather, individual wishes and the development of one’s own personality are more important than gender-specific classifications. The author and co-author will share their insights with interested attendees on Friday, September 30th, from 7 p.m. in the banquet hall of Saarbrücken Castle. Tickets are available in advance for ten euros at the Saarbrücken Castle Tourist Info and at the box office on the evening of the event.
Choosing the right income tax class is important not only for parental leave. Gabriele Fontaine, Vice President of the Saarland Chamber of Tax Advisors, will give a free virtual lecture on the topic on October 13. After the event "Choosing Tax Classes Modern and Socially Just," there will be an opportunity to ask questions.
The thematic tour "Women in the Völklinger Hütte" traces the footprints of the women who once worked here. How did their roles change over time? And what role did the women in the Röchling family actually play? The free tour on October 18 provides answers.
For the "Witches' Round Dance 2020," the women's theater group ElleGanz invites you to the Saarbrücken Castle Cellar on November 11th and 12th. Tickets for the humorous program, accompanied by live music, are already available for 15 euros at the Saarbrücken Castle Tourist Info.
The new women's program is completed by a film matinee and several yoga sessions – including a workshop on December 3rd specifically focused on the pelvic floor. Additionally, a free virtual lecture on planning and safety for parental leave is scheduled for January.
The program booklet with all events is available in print in the foyer of Saarbrücken Castle and can be downloaded directly at www.regionalverband.de/frauenbuero.
