The Homburger Reading Time series will resume tomorrow, Tuesday, September 13, for a new, now the 9th season. This reading series also includes the readings from the "VLV - Vips Read Aloud" series, featuring celebrities from the region.
The reading season also begins this year with a reading of "VLV." The Saarland Minister of Education, Christine Streichert-Clivot, will kick off the event. She will read from the book "Marzahn, mon amour" by Katja Oskamp.
The next reading time appointment, also a reading in the "VLV" series, will be held by Dirk Hasselmann on September 20, 2022. In Dr. Hasselmann's chest, there are practically two hearts beating. The first heart beats for dermatology. As a medical doctor, he has been working as a dermatologist for 20 years, initially at the university hospital and for almost ten years in his own practice in Homburg. The second heart beats for literature. He has always enjoyed reading, but since 2017 he has also been writing short stories and novels under the pen name D. O. Hasselmann.
For his first novel "Im Langboot," he took 2nd place in the Newcomer Award from tolino media. Most recently, Dirk Hasselmann's "The Hell Voyage of the Acheron," a sea adventure set in the 18th century, was published.
On the upcoming Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at 7:00 PM, he will present the book "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy and will read from it.
The event takes place in the municipal gallery at the Saalbau cultural center, Obere Allee 1, and begins at 7 p.m. Admission is free. All readings are held in accordance with the current Corona regulations.
