Saarlouis (ots)

The police are searching for the driver of a black Renault Twingo with Saarlouis district license plates, who was on the road between Dillingen, Wallerfangen, and Saarlouis-Beaumarais during the night from Friday to Saturday. At around 2:50 a.m., the Saarlouis police station was informed about an abandoned car parked in the middle of Hauptstraße in Beaumarais. On site, the officers found the completely wrecked black Twingo, with only one of the four tires still intact, and accident damage visible on both sides of the vehicle - no driver was present. Initial investigations by the police as part of the accident reconstruction revealed that the car came via the L 170 from the direction of Dillingen and drove on Hauptstraße in Wallerfangen. There, the vehicle was already damaged in an accident and lost a tire carcass. The traces led further down Hauptstraße in Beaumarais, where the Twingo first collided with the facade of a house but continued driving. Further along Hauptstraße, the fleeing driver collided with a parked car and finally came to a stop, standing in the middle of the road. The preliminary estimated property damage amounts to several thousand euros. The police had the vehicle that caused the accident towed away and are searching for the driver, who is still unknown. Any information about the driver, observations about the driving behavior, or other information useful for the investigation can be reported to the Saarlouis police station by phone at (06831) 9010 or by email at PI-Saarlouis@polizei.slpol.de.
