The delay in production in Überherrn and Heusweiler raises a number of questions in the opinion of FDP state chairman Oliver Luksic (MdB). The state government must provide clarity on whether and how the announced investments at the sites in Überherrn and Heusweiler will proceed.
“Why is there suddenly such a massive delay, or is it even a gradual farewell to the original investment plans? Obviously, the right preparations were made in Brandenburg as opposed to the Saarland. The decision for the location in Brandenburg with battery models that were intended for Überherrn is bad news for the planned settlement in Überherrn. The reference to the long planning procedures in the Saarland must also be understood as criticism of the state government. Minister-President Rehlinger has invested a lot of time, money, and effort in the settlement of SVolt. What has been announced so far obviously does not seem to be coming true,” said FDP leader Luksic.
