117 new confirmed corona cases – one more deathThe Health Department of the Regional Association reports 117 new corona cases today (as of September 9, 4 p.m.). The number of newly reported cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days rises to 235.1 according to internal calculations. Currently, there are clusters of cases in 14 facilities, including seven senior homes and three day care centers.
The health department of the regional association was notified of another death today. On August 25th, a 93-year-old patient who had previously tested positive for the coronavirus passed away. The number of deaths related to the coronavirus rises to 805.
7-day total of new infections by cities and municipalities In the past seven days, 770 people in the regional association have been infected with the coronavirus. Of these, 392 live in Saarbrücken, 79 in Völklingen, 54 in Sulzbach, 46 in Heusweiler, 39 in Püttlingen, 38 in Friedrichsthal, and 37 each in Kleinblittersdorf, Quierschied, and Riegelsberg, as well as 11 in Großrosseln.

In total, the regional association has 127,875 confirmed cases that have tested positive since the beginning of the pandemic. Of these, 69,394 are in the state capital and 58,481 in the nine surrounding towns and municipalities.
