The Intercultural Week will take place for the 47th time nationwide from September 25 to October 3, 2022. In over 500 cities and municipalities, the diversity of society is celebrated. This year, the city of Völklingen is also participating again with numerous events under this year's motto #opendoors.
At events such as an intercultural meal organized by the Saarland State Sports Association, a workshop on Saarland dialects held by the Völklingen Adult Education Center (VHS), the "Open House Day" of the Integration Advisory Council, an "interreligious peace prayer" by the Interreligious Dialogue Circle, or the introduction to philography at the DITIB Selimiye Mosque, people come together, engage in discussions and dialogues, discover new things, and break down prejudices.
To conclude the Intercultural Week, the city of Völklingen itself invites you on a special journey through Africa. In a drumming workshop for children between six and eleven years old, the musician Max Bousso creates a diverse and joyful stage program consisting of music and dance that encourages participation.
