After a longer break, a pinball expo is happening again in Saarland: From September 24 to 25, 2022, the First Saarland Pinball Club Saarcade e.V., with the support of the city marketing of the city of Völklingen, is hosting the Pinball Worlds for everyone in the cultural hall in the Völklingen district of Wehrden. Admission is charged.
Völklingen's Mayor Christiane Blatt: "The Flipper Expo Saarland has been closely connected to Völklingen since its first edition. Therefore, I am pleased that this year again the fans of the popular pinball game will be well catered for."
In addition to free play on all equipment and a children's tournament on Sunday, a seminar will take place on both days, explaining the technique of the equipment and providing first aid for self-help to hobbyists and collectors.
The second chairman of the association, Andreas Fischbach, explains: “Preparations are currently in full swing. The devices are being awakened from their Covid slumber, thoroughly tested—checking processors, magnets, and contacts—so they can withstand the strain of two days of continuous operation. The playfields are being polished, rubbers replaced, lights checked, and balls exchanged, so visitors can immerse themselves in the colorful, flashing, and shiny world of pinball machines with their clacking and ringing of relays and bell mechanisms.”
Devices from the last decades are presented, ranging from purely electromechanical machines from the 1960s to the very latest devices of this decade. "So there should be something for every taste, and perhaps someone will rediscover THE pinball machine of their youth," Fischbach continued.
The organizing club also takes care of food and beverages.
