The Regional Association has revised and republished the brochure “Places of Art and Culture.” Culture and art enthusiasts, as well as those who wish to become such, will find short portraits of 27 special places of past or present culture in the Saarbrücken region. “This is not only about the artistic and cultural significance of the places themselves. Rather, they themselves become a projection surface for art through numerous exhibitions, installations, and projects,” said Regional Association Director Peter Gillo.
Twelve places of art and culture are located in the state capital Saarbrücken, with 15 more in the surrounding towns and municipalities of the regional association. In each municipality, at least one place of art and culture can be discovered. One example is the Ölmühle Berschweiler, where the exhibition "Metamorphosen" by the artist Nikola Dimitrov can be seen. The Wintringer Chapel, with its annually changing "per annum" exhibition, is just as much a place of art and culture as, for example, Saarbrücken Castle.
The brochure is available free of charge in printed form at the Tourist Info Saarbrücker Schloss. It is also available online for free download at www.regionalverband.de/kulturorte.
