The yellow of the goldenrod shines in the sun, a willow whispers in the summer breeze, the Rohrbach babbles along, and cheerful children's laughter drifts over from the playground. This romantically relaxed early evening atmosphere in the Rentrisch valley meadow is hard to resist on a late summer day, but also at any other time of year or day.
The small area between Kaiserstraße and Lottenhammer stretches from Rentrischer Waschhaus to the street „Zur Blecherdell“. Tall plants and bushes line the bike path and the parallel gravel walking path – between them the renatured Rohrbach with its small bridges. The paved path on the river side to Lottenhammer offers educational and interesting variety through the water nature trail – about 15 panels with information about the life-giving water. The gravel path on the other side of the river invites sporting activity with some fitness equipment. Children can let off steam on the playground, and various benches provide space to rest or have a picnic. Sometimes a cat silently creeps along the path, but other fauna and interesting flora can also be observed.
A look at the renovated "Höfchen" residential building at "Lottenhammer" and a visit to the Spellenstein and the washhouse on "Am Spellenstein" street complete the leisure experience. The Rentrischer Talaue is not a large local recreation area, but a gem on the outskirts of St. Ingbert. Here, residents, citizens, and visitors find relaxation and variety for young and old.
