Since 2018, the World Cleanup Day has taken place on the third weekend of September every year. It is the largest bottom-up citizen movement in the world to combat environmental pollution and plastic waste.
In 2021, 14 million people worldwide from 191 countries participated in World Cleanup Day and removed 53 thousand tons of waste from nature. Through their cleanup actions, they sent a strong message for a clean, healthy, and plastic waste-free environment.
In Germany, Cleanup Day took place in 836 municipalities, and 189,626 participants took part in 3,217 activities to free nature from litter.
For the third time, the municipality of Kleinblittersdorf will also participate in World Cleanup Day on September 17. Anyone who wants to join the activities in the participating districts of Auersmacher, Bliesransbach, Kleinblittersdorf, or Rilchingen-Hanweiler can register via the email address pro-biosphaere@gmx.de.
Every helping hand is needed.
Sponsors who wish to support the cleanup campaign are also very welcome and can get in touch with the organizers via the mentioned email address. The municipality of Kleinblittersdorf supports the campaign by providing, among other things, garbage bags and grabbers. Additionally, the municipality of Kleinblittersdorf takes care of advertising measures and the disposal of the collected waste.
We look forward to active participation.
