212 new confirmed corona cases – incidence shows a slight increaseThe health department of the regional association reports 212 new corona cases today (as of September 5, 4 p.m.). The number of newly reported cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days has slightly increased to 215.3 according to internal calculations. Most of the new corona cases concern the age group 40 to 60 years, with around 32 percent. The share of those under 20 years remains the lowest at around twelve percent.
7-day total of new infections by cities and municipalitiesIn the past seven days, 705 people in the regional association have been infected with the coronavirus. Of these, 379 live in Saarbrücken, 64 in Völklingen, 54 in Sulzbach, 48 in Quierschied, 35 in Püttlingen, 33 in Kleinblittersdorf, 32 in Riegelsberg, 29 in Friedrichsthal, 20 in Heusweiler, and 11 in Großrosseln.

In total, there are 127,317 confirmed cases in the regional association that have tested positive since the beginning of the pandemic. Of these, 69,127 are in the state capital and 58,190 in the nine surrounding towns and municipalities.
