97 new confirmed corona cases – another death reportedThe health department of the regional association reports 97 new corona cases today (as of September 1, 4 p.m.). The number of newly reported cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days is falling to 210.4 according to internal calculations. Most of the new corona cases affect the group of over 60-year-olds with around 36 percent. With around four percent, the share of under 20-year-olds remains significantly the lowest.
The health department of the regional association was notified of another death today. On August 15, an 87-year-old patient who had previously tested positive for the coronavirus passed away. The number of deaths related to the coronavirus rises to 800.
7-day total of new infections by cities and municipalitiesIn the past seven days, 689 people in the regional association have been infected with the coronavirus. Of these, 337 live in Saarbrücken, 76 in Völklingen, 55 in Sulzbach, 52 in Püttlingen, 41 in Quierschied, 31 in Riegelsberg, 30 in Heusweiler, 29 in Kleinblittersdorf, 28 in Friedrichsthal, and 10 in Großrosseln.

In total, the regional association has 127,020 confirmed cases that have tested positive since the beginning of the pandemic. Of these, 68,964 are in the state capital and 58,056 in the nine surrounding towns and municipalities.
