Bexbach. Home office instead of commuting, series streaming instead of linear TV, internet telephony instead of landline: Bexbach has the opportunity in the coming weeks to connect to the fiber optic network, allowing its residents to surf the internet at top speed. To this end, Deutsche Glasfaser will start the demand aggregation on 09/03/2022.
Deutsche Glasfaser is the leading fiber optic provider for rural areas in Germany and is advancing the expansion of fiber optics quickly and unbureaucratically. For this, the company relies on the support of the citizens of Bexbach. Until the deadline on December 3, 2022, residents in the expansion area can sign a contract with Deutsche Glasfaser as part of the demand bundling to receive a free fiber optic connection directly to their house or apartment. If at least 40 percent of the connectable households in Bexbach participate, nothing stands in the way of the expansion.
The municipal administration and Deutsche Glasfaser have signed a cooperation agreement, marking the first step towards the digital future of Bexbach. “As a digital provider for the regions, our goal is to supply rural areas across Germany with stable and future-proof infrastructure. We bring the experience and technological expertise required for rapid fiber optic expansion. In doing so, we see ourselves as a reliable partner for the municipalities and people on site and rely on close collaboration,” said Christopher Drawer, Project Manager at Deutsche Glasfaser.
The new infrastructure takes into account all households in the expansion area and creates the conditions for latecomers to still be connected. However, these households must then bear the connection costs of currently 750 euros themselves.
The Deutsche Glasfaser team provides detailed information about the network expansion, products, and project progress at the information evenings on 14.09.2022 and 15.09.2022 at 7:00 PM and at the specially established service point, Rathausstr. 14 A, 66450 Bexbach (Mondays from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesdays from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Fridays from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM). In addition, employees of Deutsche Glasfaser will visit citizens at home and offer consultations upon request.
