It continues: On Thursday, September 15, 2022, at 7:00 PM, Kulturforum Illipse: "Rethinking Age Images" and Cordula Weimann, founder of "Omas for Future." In 2019, at the age of 60, she founded "Omas for Future," which now has over 60 regional subgroups, to remind the generation of "causers" of their shared responsibility and to encourage small behavioral changes. If her grandchildren ever ask her one day: "What have you done for me, Grandma?", she wants to be able to answer and have been active in keeping this Earth a livable place. How? Let yourself be surprised!
Always on Thursdays at 7:00 p.m., the events will continue in the foyer of the Kulturforum Illipse: on October 6, 2022, with Elke Schilling from "Silbernetz," which offers committed conversations and contact to lonely elderly people; on October 27, 2022, with Saarland doctor Dr. med. Eckart Rolshoven, who at the age of 71 simply keeps going to be there for people and ensure medical care in rural areas; and on November 17, 2022, with Laura Theiss, a fashion designer exploring whether and how new images of aging can also be reflected in fashion. We are very curious because rethinking images of aging requires a change of perspective and impulses, according to our former Minister of Social Affairs Barbara Wackernagel-Jacobs, who, together with Mayor Dr. Armin König, will moderate these evenings. Our event series aims to inspire people to think about aging differently, anew, and optimistically. We introduce people who are already aging "differently," who reinvent themselves or continue on, finally realizing new ideas that approach their own lives in unusual ways, but also address topics that are exciting for our society. Each talk thus has two aspects: an unusual person and an unusual topic. Admission to all events is free. For more information and seat reservations: 06825 409 127/-126.
