156 new confirmed Corona cases – Another deathThe health department of the regional association reports 156 new corona cases today (as of August 30, 4 p.m.). The number of newly reported cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days has slightly increased to 207.3 according to internal calculations. Most of the new corona cases affect the group of 40 to 60-year-olds with around 42 percent. With around eight percent, the proportion of those under 20 years of age remains the lowest.
The health department of the regional association was informed of another death today. A 74-year-old patient who had previously tested positive for the coronavirus passed away a week ago. The number of deaths related to the coronavirus rises to 799.
7-day total of new infections by cities and municipalitiesIn the past seven days, 679 people in the regional association have been infected with the coronavirus. Of these, 311 live in Saarbrücken, 70 in Völklingen, 65 in Püttlingen, 53 in Sulzbach, 37 each in Riegelsberg and Quierschied, 32 in Kleinblittersdorf, 31 in Friedrichsthal, 28 in Heusweiler, and 15 in Großrosseln.

In total, there are 126,768 confirmed cases in the regional association that have tested positive since the beginning of the pandemic. Of these, 68,817 are from the state capital and 57,951 from the nine surrounding towns and municipalities.
