Radiant faces last Saturday at the Cloef-Atrium in Orscholz: Adrian Schmitz and Mayor Daniel Kiefer, simultaneously also chairman of the advisory board of Herzensengel in the municipality of Mettlach, handed over the second inclusive swing, as well as the first inclusive carousel ever in the municipality of Mettlach, on behalf of the district of Orscholz to the deputy local mayor Marietta Schmitz.
The inclusion swing and the inclusion carousel are playground equipment that can also be used by people with physical disabilities. Wheelchairs, strollers, or walkers can be secured on the equipment so they do not roll away – thus, the playground equipment guarantees an enjoyable and safe experience for all family members.
Uwe Wagner from the BSK State Association for the Self-Help of Physically Disabled Persons Saarland e.V. was then able to personally verify the functionality of the new devices. Alfons Blaß, managing director of the Orscholz SRS Care Center Saarschleife, also formed an impression together with a resident.
"I am very pleased that we can hand over a small playground at this prominent location in Orscholz, right at the entrance to the frequently visited treetop path, for wheelchair users, but also for people with other disabilities or walkers, as well as for children in strollers. My thanks go to the Herzensengel Mettlach e.V. association, as well as the sponsors from the PRO Inklusionsschaukel e.V. association, FC Bayern Hilfe e.V., the Franz Beckenbauer Foundation, and Sparda-Bank Südwest. Last but not least, my thanks also go to Saarschleife Touristik and my employees from the municipal yard, who installed the equipment at the designated location," concluded Mayor Daniel Kiefer.
